My Family!™, a retail subsidiary arm of Dodi Press, LLC, was founded in 2010 by married couple and business partners, Monica and Cheril Bey-Clarke to address the needs of children in the LGBT community. Both women bring aspects to the business, which complement one another and are powerful when merged. Cheril has authored many books and novels, and has been a popular, award-winning playwright in the LGBT community for over ten years (penned as Cheril N. Clarke). Monica has more than a decade of experience in business concepts, strategy and implementation. Monica and Cheril were recently featured in the "Most Powerful Lesbians" issue of Curve Magazine. Their backgrounds—coupled with their creativity and immense passion for making a difference—has allowed them to build My Family!™ from the ground up in the hopes of providing memorable experiences to both LGBT parents and their children for generations to come. The company went international in 2011 and now offers its products in a total of 17 countries.

A Personal Note from the Founders

Some time ago when we were going through the process of becoming licensed foster parents in New Jersey, we became frustrated with the lack of books available for children of gay and lesbian parents. Generally speaking, there is still a huge void for different types of books and other products for kids of all ages and backgrounds. So, we decided to step into this arena and attempt to fill this void. It’s our mission that the array of multi-cultural products we offer can be used to give children of same-sex parents a sense of normalcy, while promoting the celebration of our differences and the importance of family values. We also strive to educate children and reinforce the morality already taught in the home.
